Confessions of a Lesser Mind
So I finally received the reply from SMU yesterday evening. The big ‘Congratulations’ emblazoned on the envelope did give me a glimmer of hope till I read on:
“I am aware that you aspire to do a Law degree program; that you have been interviewed by the school testifies to your potential to be one. (So far so good) Indeed, you have interviewed creditably. (Why, thank you very much) In a field of highly talented candidates, our selection process becomes even more competitive and in this regard, you miss qualifying into the law school. (D’oh!) However, I am delighted to offer you admission into SMU’s Bachelor of Business Management programme at the LKCSB ….. arguably the most popular (You say oversubscribed, I say overrated ) business school. You should be proud of your achievement.” ( Don’t need to patronize me lor.)
It was a long shot anyway. I won’t deny I’m disappointed but it was not much of a surprise, but kudos to the admin office for such a personalized and tact way of rejecting me.
And no, I am not blaming CD for making me stupid and stuff. There was serious competition and I was beaten fairly.
Well, I guess its back to reality. I now have only one option, of which three routes are placed before me.
Business Admin. (It was my sole dream to scrape the A levels and get into this course, at any uni; would have sufficed for me. I guess we were all young and stupid.)
So should I go to SMU ( its 9 times oversubscribed perhaps that many overrated), NUS ( their over-aggressive ads have fooled me into thinking they’re outstanding. Who can go wrong with the tagline ‘That’s the difference between them and N’US.’ ) or the super quiet NTU ( that only finds it sufficient to put up unglamorous ads on buses and bus stops. But perhaps they have the most to offer? )?
I don’t know. Any suggestions?
