The Real World

I swear, NS makes you ignorant. Shielded from all news from the outside world for 5 days a week, I come back feeling like a hilly-billy. New gadgets, new news, more people dying, new tv shows, I come home feeling so... inadequate. But that's NS life I guess. your mind switches off for a few months.

Anyway, the title of the post below was so apt. Little did I know that one of my platoonmates was actually the Crew Leader at Pasir Ris MacDonald's. The night that Siu Sing and Isyraf came over for the 12 hour gamefest at my place was the night when the freak heavy rains took place. But being hungry gamers, we ordered Macs, that took 3 hours to come. The only reason that they sent a dispatch in the heavy rains was because we kept calling for our food. And he was the one who had to pack it. LOL. He looked at my IC and asked me whether I was the persistent bastard who kept calling for my Macs during that night. The manager was then forced to send a rider. LOL. It wasn't our fault. We were hungry.

Anyways, I went out with my platoonmates yesterday, shortly after Vishnu, Siu Sing and Isyraf came over to my place to game and pig out on pizza. Wah. Big mistake. Those pieces of shit (my platoonmates) told me to meet them at 7 sharp at bugis, so i rushed there in a cab, that eventually cost me 15 bucks and they had the cheek to arrive at 7.45 to 8.15. They then smoked like 2 packs of cigarrettes each and we played pool. For people who play pool regularly, they suck. I've played pool like 6 times, and I managed to win 2 of 4 games. To think that till today, i don't know how to hold the pool stick. I was still miffed about wasting so much moolah on my cab fare and left early, after paying for more than my share at the pool place. I would rather have had Siu Sing and the rest stay over at my house longer so we could catch up. Well, that's the first and last time i go out my platoonmates.

You know how adults keep bitching about how tough working life is, and how precious weekends are? I think they're on to something. I just feel like catching up with friends, gaming and watching tv. If possivle, i want everything to happen without me leaving my house. Ah well, the real world sucks.

Oh, and my pay finally came in. It feels good to spend money that didn't come from your parents' wallet (except when you spend that money on a stupid cab ride). Though it really showed me the importance and good feeling of having cash flowing into your bank account. I can't wait to get a job. I guess I really am a spoilt child, never having worked in my entire life. Ah wells, I'm going to save up for my driving lessons and that wireless XBox 360 wheel, the wet dream of any 360 owner.
