CRAP!!!! 2006 is coming!!!
My, my. Where have the holidays gone to? There are only 7 days left and I just started on my holiday homework which is meant to occupy me for 2 months. Hmmm. I think I may be in trouble now. I am doing my work, however, one cannot expect me to dedicate the remainder of my short holiday to do what I know cannot be completed. But heck, I will try my best. Its time that I start working and stop slacking.
That reminds me, I have some filming to do tomorrow. Let’s hope that the teachers will like the second draft of the video. I find that their opinions are good, albeit some of them may be a little too old to be applied into our generation. Oh and another thing, those who are supposed to come down tomorrow please do, your attendance will be integral to the success of the video.
Anyway, I tried installing Black and White 2 on my computer. It’s a game whereby you are a god and you manage a population of people. Very interesting, and I must say that playing the role of a God does give you a tad bit of an ego boost J unfortunately, it couldn’t be installed. It was probably a sign from the heavens to not try to be what I am not. Hmph.
Anyway, a belated merry Christmas to those who celebrated it. I hope you enjoyed your celebration.
Thinking of the NKF thingy, was TT Durai really to be blamed? All his abuses of power were sanctioned by the board members, especially so by the chairman of the board, Richard Yong. The newspaper reported that a few key members of the board and the CEO flew first class on a regular basis. Furthermore, if you’ve seen the diagram on the Saturday the one titled NKF: A Tangled Web, then you would have seen that there were other key members of the board who had stakes in project and events held by the NKF. They had stakes in the companies that NKF employed to perform certain tasks. I think that the only mistake that the NKF did was to allow their directors to hold key positions in various important boards simultaneously. Imagine if you are the chairman of a board, and you are an influential member of the oversight committee that overseas the board, does that not grant you the ability to do whatever you want? You can approve your own project and requests because as a member of the oversight committee, you yourself approved it. Maybe it was not a mistake by the board members, but in fact a calculated move to seize greater control. One my never know.
But certainly the CEO is not to take all the blame. The blame and brunt of the public’s outrage should also be channeled to the board’s chairman should it not? I mean, the chairman was the one who did suggest and approve most of the extravagant pay packages of the CEO. So I think that the 2 of them should share the blame. I think the rest of the country and I are eager to learn the outcome of the government’s probe into this matter.
Oh and one last thing. How many of you are still waking up in the afternoon? No one? Well then, perhaps I should start waking up earlier. Toodles for now.
